Commercial printer Sumfield and Day has installed a Fuji Luxel V-6 running Brillia LP-NV plates and Fuji Open Workflow into its Eastbourne premises in East Sussex.

The complete violet CTP solution will enable Sumfield and Day to improve its productivity and make significant environmental savings.

Nigel Day, managing director of Sumfield and Day, commented: "We chose to install violet CTP as it is now a very stable technology that I believe is the way forward".

"The compact machine doesn't take up a lot of space, the auto-loader feature enables the pre-press operator to carry out other jobs and, from a service point of view, the machine is very easy to look after with no large overheads".

"We also chose the Fuji Luxel V-6 because it is environmentally friendly".

"The Fuji Brillia LP-NV CTP plates are a lot cleaner than those we were using previously and have also drastically reduced our make-ready times".

"They have enabled us to reduce our ink usage and we have significantly decreased wastage by no longer using film".

"The chemistry is also a lot cleaner than other competitive products on the market".

"As part of our environmental focus, we are also recycling all our plastic".

"The Fuji Luxel V-6 is the perfect partner to help us continue to improve our environmental policies".

Sumfield and Day has also installed Fuji Open Workflow, which is outputting both digital and litho files.

The RIP-once, output-many feature is enabling more accurate proofs to be produced from its Fuji Epson 7600 proofer.

Due to the company's continued success, the installation of Fuji violet CTP is part of a bigger investment, which included a move to larger premises in January 2005.

Established in 1875, the company today employs 35 people and provides services from design through to print and is able to offer both digital and litho printing to its clients with print runs up to 50,000.
