Fujifilm Graphic Systems has installed a Luxel Vx-9600 B1 CTP system at Prism Graphic Resources, a digital, litho and large-format printer based in Leeds (UK) Prism Graphics chose the violet platesetter for its B1 and B2 repro capabilities, as part of its move from film to CTP

The company has also installed Fuji Open Workflow to drive both the new Luxel CTP and its existing equipment.

The Fuji CTP was sold via Offset Supplies in Sheffield.

Offset Supplies has an established relationship with Prism Graphics, having supplied Fujifilm plates to the company for a substantial period.

Offset Supplies was instrumental in putting together the right package to meet Prism's requirements.

Stephen Sayer, business development manager at Prism Graphic Resources, commented: "Fujifilm's photopolymer violet CTP is a lot more environmentally friendly and cleaner than silver CTP and provided us with the most productive and economical solution.

It produces high quality results and fulfils our need for B1 and B2 plates.

We were already using Fuji's plates and so were already aware of the outstanding service and support - but this was even more of an issue moving to a single supplier." Prism Graphic Resources is using a complete Fuji Open Workflow system and is particularly impressed with its trapping and ROOM (RIP once, output many) features.

Prism Graphics has noticed an improvement in data integrity of documents and is using the workflow to drive its existing digital Epson proofing devices and its digital press.

It has also been using Fuji Open Workflow to output CIP3 files to its five-colour B1 and six-colour B2 litho presses.

Sayer continued: "Fuji Open Workflow was our first choice of workflow because of its open nature and compatibility with other devices.

Using Fuji Open Workflow we can now output to a variety of engines.

The system is very robust, user friendly and versatile.

Fujifilm has been very professional and supportive throughout the whole sales and installation process.

The company conducted a site survey and showed us how our existing equipment would be incorporated in to the new CTP package." Since installing the new system, Prism Graphics has had some excellent feedback from clients, including comments on improved proofing, clarity of images and an overall better quality of print.

Prism Graphics specialises in commercial colour printing and produces a range of direct mail and marketing literature for large charities, blue chip financial organisations and advertising agencies.
