Swansea (Wales) company IMEX Group has chosen Fuji's thermal B2 platesetter, the Luxel T-6300S CTP, which was launched at Ipex 2006 The system will run Fuji's thermal processless plate, Brillia HD Pro-T

Edo Velthuis, production manager at IMEX, said: "We have just bought a new Komori B2 press and were really impressed with the total system we saw at the Komori open day in Leeds.

We have bought the thermal platesetter to output the plate.

We were really impressed with the ease of use for plate handling and that we didn't have to change anything with regards to make-ready and press wash up." The Luxel T-6300S CTP is a B2 thermal platesetter with 32 laser diodes and is claimed to be capable of outputting 21 plates per hour at 2,400 dots per inch (dpi) and will be run using Fuji's Open Workflow.

Fuji's Brillia HD PRO-T plate is a high definition thermal plate.

With some processless plates, productivity is halved, but with Brillia HD Pro-T, customers can benefit from the same productivity and the same quality, claimed Fujifilm.

The plates are also truly process-less - there is no processor or gumming unit required, meaning no maintenance, chemistry or chemistry disposal costs and more space.

There is no change on the press - make-ready and the press wash-up is the same.

IMEX Group, which has also bought DW Jones, has purchased the multi-cassette autoloader configuration of the platesetter.
