Fujifilm Graphic Systems yesterday sold its first Luxel V-8 HD CTP system to Belgian printer Dessain Printing.

Dessain Printing, based in Mechelen (Belgium) chose Fuji's new High Definition CTP system, demonstrated at Ipex, for its combination of high quality and high productivity, said Fujifilm.

Using an automatic plate bender, Dessain Printing's Fuji Luxel V-8 HD will produce 300 plates per day to feed its three web presses.

Marc Dessain, managing director of Dessain Printing, said: "The decision to go with Fuji was simple.

We require high productivity and the best image quality and the Luxel V-8 HD is the only machine that delivers both." Dessain Printing specialises in heat set web printing of brochures, catalogues and magazine inserts Fuji's Luxel V-8 HD is a fully automatic unit capable of outputting 32 plates per hour at 2,400 dots per inch (dpi).

Its high definition imaging head combines continuing improvements in violet laser technology with a refined optical system for a better laser profile and a sharper dot, resulting in better image reproduction and improved processing stability and consistency, claimed Fujifilm.
