Violet CTP At Heart Of Low-Cost Automated System

Knocklayd Print, a B2 commercial printer in Belfast has installed a Fujifilm Luxel V-6 CTP violet B2 platesetter along with Fuji Open Workflow and Brillia LP-NV violet photopolymer CTP plates.

The installation was carried out by Alphagraphics, Fuji's Northern Ireland dealer and is a completely automated system.

Knocklayd has chosen the Fuji equipment because of the low cost of ownership and the quality of the output.

It was also impressed with the fact that the Luxel V-6 engine can be upgraded for use with Fuji's chemistry-free violet plate, the Brillia HD PRO-V, when it becomes available next year.

Richard Beattie of Knocklayd, said: "Fuji's violet system is perfect for us.

We wanted a machine that offered higher quality production and the Luxel V-6 together with Brillia LP-NV violet plate more than exceeded our expectations.

We also wanted a device that could move as technology developed.

We are constantly looking to reduce our environmental impact and because the Luxel V-6 can be upgraded for use with Fuji's Brillia HD PRO-V violet chemistry-free plate, the whole package is almost tailor-made." He continued: "The cost of ownership is a real benefit and with Alphagraphics being able to offer local servicing, we feel that we have made a business investment for now and the future." Claimed to be suitable for high quality commercial printers and trade shops, the Luxel V-6 is said to provide a flexible format size from 279mm x 381mm up to 765mm x 686mm, allowing creation from some duplicator sizes right up to the largest of the B2 presses.
