Fujifilm Graphic Systems' new Remote Approval 1.5 remote approval module for Fuji Open Workflow is now available.

Fujifilm Graphic Systems' new Remote Approval 1.5 remote approval module for Fuji Open Workflow is now available.

Remote Approval 1.5 is said to have new features including 'job browser', an interface that enables customer service functions or clients to see the job progress through the workflow.

It also offers improved JDF support, which allows blank and unassigned pages to be indicated in the imposition when viewing in book mode, said the company.

Where necessary, the software will insert blank pages and text for unassigned pages, allowing for the document structure to be approved, as well as individual pages in a document, prior to all pages being available, claimed Fujifilm.

The new version of Remote Approval also includes a pages status feature that provides a status progress on assignment, pre-flight, RIPed, published and approved stages and in addition, a flats status, which includes a ready, RIPed, proofed and plotted layout of the plate.

Remote Approval 1.5 is claimed to let users compare page revisions across two versions of the RIPed page, giving them the option of either just seeing only the areas that have changed or highlighting areas on the complete page.

That provides a quick way of checking corrections.

The new software also includes e-mail notification, which has been extended to offer users greater control of internal approval cycles across all stages of the workflow, it is claimed.
