Thermal Processless Plates Exceed Expectations
Fujifilm Graphic Systems has reported that the take-up of its new thermal processless plate, Brillia HD PRO-T, is exceeding expectations.
The event showed how Fuji's new processless plate can be imaged equally as fast as conventional processed CTP plates, according to the company.
Pulling the first few press sheets showed how Fuji's develop-on-press technology removes non-imaged emulsion from the plate within the first few sheets, which is well within the normal run up to colour for the press, said Fujifilm.
Graham Leeson, marketing manager for Fujifilm Graphic Systems, said: "After the success of last year's open day we were thrilled to take part in the demonstrations again this year.
The open-days were a great forum for printers to see how our Brillia HD Pro-T plate works, how easy it is to use on press and the to see first-hand the benefits it offers.
The commercial take up of the plate is exceeding all our expectations, as there is nothing on the market with a performance to match it." Fuji's Brillia HD Pro-T is a high definition processless plate.
Fujifilm claimed that with some processless plates, productivity is halved, but with Brillia HD Pro-T printers can benefit from the same productivity and the same quality as they would get from conventional plates.
The company added that the plate is also 'true' processless - there are no processors or gumming units required and, therefore, there are no maintenance, chemistry or chemistry disposal costs to worry about.
No changes on press are required - make-ready and the press wash-up is the same.
Fuji's Brillia HD Pro-T thermal processless plate is commercially available now.
