Fujifilm UK and Hewlett-Packard have are cooperating to market the new HP Designjet Z-series large format printers on the photographic market The new HP printers will be marketed alongside the full range of Fujifilm/Epson Stylus Pro large format printers that Fujifilm has been distributing for the past six years

Peter Hayward of Fujifilm, said: "This partnership with HP fully complements our range of the world's leading inkjet printers.

It allows us to offer the two best brands of printer on the market today." The features offered by the HP Designjet Z Photo printer series means that whether users are photographers, graphic designers or artists, their creative vision will be fully achieved with high-end colour and museum quality results repeatedly rendered with accurate detail and efficient processing, claimed Fujifilm.

The features include the new gloss enhancer that is claimed to eliminate the problem of image bronzing, the production of mono work and the built-in Eye-One spectrophotometer from X-Rite for automatic colour adjustment and ICC profiling - a world first for this class of printer, it is claimed.

The system is also said to have the ability to switch immediately between photo and matt black inks, enabling the switching between fine art and photographic media.

The Designjet 12-ink Z3100 model, available in 24-inch and 44-inch widths, incorporates HP Vivera pigment inks and the HP 70 Gloss Enhancer, whilst the HP Quad-Black Inks enable the creation of subtly toned mono prints and achieves truly neutral greys under different lighting conditions, said the company.

It is fully compatible with all Fujifilm inkjet media, which is claimed to provide a broad colour gamut on matt fine art papers and glossy photo papers for photographic and creative design applications.

Peter Hayward commented: "We will be selling the HP Designjet printers complete with a full system package, including software and media, making them the ideal complement to any minilab business at one end of the market and a superb tool for producing exquisite portraits and exhibition quality prints by professional photographers at the other." He added: "Our offering of two of the top brands in this market provides our customers with the choice of the most appropriate system for their businesses and represents a great opportunity for them to expand their media sales.

Whatever a customer's needs, we can now offer the perfect system.".
