Screening System Enhances Greetings Cards Quality
Milton Keynes (UK) company Loudwater specialises in printing high quality greetings cards for publishers and is using Fuji screening technology along with Pantone's Hexachrome system.
Milton Keynes (UK) company Loudwater specialises in printing high quality greetings cards for publishers and is using Fuji screening technology along with Pantone's Hexachrome system.
Richard Gore, client development director at Loudwater, commented: "Using Taffeta we are able to get a more photographic appearance on the cards, which gives them a more professional artistic appearance.
We are also seeing less raster lines and moire.
The screening has also been particularly useful when printing fine art jobs as Taffeta 2.0 produces a softer look." Gore's pre-press team of five people has also commented on the versatility and ease of use of Fuji Open Workflow, which means that users can use the workflow simply for day to day use or when necessary, in a more advanced manner, said Fujifilm.
Taffeta 2.0 offers printers improved colour saturation and enhanced image detail, giving significant benefits for high quality print work, as well as eliminating moire and rosettes.
Using Taffeta 2.0 also means that printing with more than four colours becomes easier to implement because there are no conflicting screen angles, added the company.
Incorporating a new Fujifilm simulation technology, the latest version of Taffeta includes graininess and screening pattern optimisation algorithms that are claimed to give visual quality without sacrificing pressroom performance.
Fujifilm claimed that using Taffeta 2.0, printers can achieve brighter, vibrant and more consistent colours with a better contrast - in some cases, using less ink.
Said to be suitable for all types of high quality print work, Taffeta 2.0 helps to produce better detail throughout the printed document and in particular in highlight areas.
