New CTP And Workflow Help Win 50% Business Boost
Galloways, a commercial and packaging printer based in Poynton, Cheshire (UK) has seen its commercial work increase by 50 per cent since installing a complete Fujifilm violet CTP and workflow system.
The company has also opened a new design facility enabling B2B1 Print Solutions to now offer customers a complete range of pre-press, print and finishing services from under one roof.
Chris Antoniou, director of B2B1 Print Solutions, said: "By bringing our pre-press operation in-house, we are able to exercise better control over our profit margins and this has had the effect of greatly reducing our overheads and costs.
Before installing our CTP system from Fujifilm, we outsourced our entire platemaking operation to a third party reprographic house." He added: "With the Luxel T-9000 CTP, we are now capable of imaging 14 B1 plates per hour, where beforehand we would have had to wait at least a day for a set of plates to come back from the suppliers.

Violet Photopolymer Plate For Newspapers Launched
Fujifilm Graphic Systems has launched its new CTP plate for the newspaper market - Brillia LP-NNV.
There is also the added advantage that the automatic plate loader enables us to run the system unmanned, producing a further 100 plates overnight." Antoniou further explained: "Fujifilm's CTP and workflow system has streamlined our operation so that we have been able to take on more time-sensitive projects, whilst simultaneously increasing the amount of work we turn around in any given day.
The level of automation achieved with the workflow and Fujifilm colour management software also allows the fast and efficient production of accurate colour proofs, helping us to output more consistent results for our customers." He added that B2B1 Print Solutions had noticed a trend whereby customers were requesting to bypass the proofing process in favour of sending their work directly to press to meet ever decreasing time scales.
With the new system, the company can provide colour and imposition proofs in an instant, which has enhanced the consistency and quality of the work it provides.
B2B1 was founded in 2001 after directors Chris Antoniou and Tony Coleshill were made redundant when the printing firm they worked for closed down.
In a short space of time the duo has pooled its experience and resources to grow the company into a GBP2million turnover business, which employs 22 people from the local area.
Chris Antoniou commented, "The combined expertise and professionalism of Dave Lea and Tony Talbot of Fujifilm gave B2B1 Print Solutions the confidence in choosing Fujifilm.".
