A new printing plant factory in China will mean Fujifilm can meet domestic demand and increase exports to Asia and other areas.

The factory will be the focal point for the production of Fujifilm's main graphic arts products, PS and CTP plates, for offset printing.

Fujifilm said that its global supply chain facilitates the smooth supply of plates to meet the increasing worldwide demand for CTP and PS plates, which it plans to continue to expand.

The opening of its second plate line in China further strengthens its global manufacturing network of factories in the USA, the Netherlands, China and Japan, added the company.

Graham Leeson, Fujifilm Graphics Division marketing manager, said: "The second plate line in China is part of our continuing worldwide investment in plate technology and manufacture and follows the EUR40 investment in 2006 of Euros in its European plant in Tilburg (Netherlands).

The introduction of the second plate lines in Tilburg and China will enable Fuji to supply a wider range of plates in different sizes to its various markets globally." The new factory kin China has an area of approximately 150,000 square metres and employs 230 staff.
