Printing Products Contribute To Fuji's 11% Growth

A Fujifilm Graphic Systems product story
Edited by the Printingtalk editorial team Nov 7, 2007

With 11 per cent growth in the first quarter of the year and 13 per cent in the second quarter, Fujifilm said that its global graphic arts business has significantly contributed to overall growth.

In the UK graphic arts market, the company has matched its global growth and, when including new business, has even exceeded it, added Fujifilm.

Fujifilm's results for the first six months of the 2007 fiscal year have shown an increase of 4.1 per cent compared to the first half of 2006, which took revenue figures up to Yen1.4 trillion.

The company's operating income has increased by 114 per cent.

The company's earnings before interest and tax are Yen114 billion - an increase of 102 per cent on last year's figures.

Fujifilm added that its research and development expenses forecast will be Yen200 billion by the end of 2008 from the current Yen177 billion Yen - an increase of 13 per cent compared to the same point in 2006, with an increased reserve of seven per cent (up from 6.4 per cent).

Keith Dalton, director of Fujifilm Graphic Arts UK, said: "These numbers show a robust performance from Fujifilm in a difficult environment.

Top line growth is above market performance and this is down to Fujifilm's extremely high quality and reliable products.

Sales of Brillia CTP plates and, in particular, Fuji's thermal processless plate, Brillia HD Pro-T, have been exceptional since its commercial launch in September 2006.

Bottom line performance shows good cost control where raw material costs and ever increasing energy costs continue to be a challenge.".
