Target Print, a printer in Leeds (UK) is the latest company to convert to Fujifilm's Brillia HD Pro-T processless plate.
Fujifilm said that Brillia Pro-T only needs an imaging power close to Fuji's other thermally processed plate at 120mJ per square centimetre, resulting in the same production speeds as conventional thermal CTP plates.
The plate is also said to support run lengths up to 100,000 impressions and can be handled under daylight conditions.
John Eagles, managing director of Eagle Offset, explained: "Having decided to make the switch from film, we opted to go the whole way and install a processless system.
Our repro manager, Lee Martin and production director, Andy Steen and I thoroughly researched the market and found that the combination of Fuji's Pro-T plate and Screen's platesetter was streets ahead of the rivals.
Also, with our customers increasingly demanding 'green' print, the elimination of chemistry thanks to Pro-T's processless technology provides us with a really powerful environmental sales angle." He continued: "The customer service from both Fuji and SOS has been perfect,.
The installation of Pro-T was seamless.
In fact, on our training day we had a monthly price list to print and we effortlessly outputted 60 Pro-T plates.
We've not looked back since." Graham Leeson, Fujifilm's marketing manager, said: "This is an important milestone for Fuji.
The adoption of Pro-T globally has been outstanding since its commercial launch, with high performance and environmental benefits the major reasons for the plate's success." Founded in 1993, Eagle Offset is a B2 printer specialising in commercial printing for clients that include Nestle UK and Euromoney.
The company runs a five-colour Komori Lithrone press and has also installed a SRA3 digital press.
