Fujifilm FLH-Z intelligent plate processors
Fujifilm today announce that its Fujifilm FLH-Z intelligent plate processors bring environmental and cost benefits.
Fujifilm today announces that despite the popularity of its Brillia HD PRO-T processless plate, its FLH-Z processors are bringing significant environmental and cost benefits to the many printers for whom plate processing is still the preferred solution.
Designed to improve the ease with which consistent, high quality plate processing can be achieved through automated replenishment, improved imaging quality and wider processing tolerances, these unique processors optimise the development conditions by measuring the conductivity of the chemistry.
This minimises the amount of chemistry used, reducing costs and improving the environmental footprint.
Dedicated for use with Fujifilm Brillia HD thermal CTP plates and manufactured by Glunz and Jensen, the FLH-Z units are fitted with the very latest 'ZAC' intelligent microprocessor control system from Fujifilm, providing a robust, stable, high quality plate processing environment.
The ZAC control system determines the optimum replenishment rate, which results in the best possible development conditions irrespective of changes in plate volume or image area.
Consequently, plates are always processed under optimum conditions.
Graham Leeson, marketing manager of Fujifilm Graphic Systems UK, said: "The FLH-Z processors are ideal for those printers who are working towards a processless or chemistry-free solution but for whom the economics just don't add up yet.
We've had some real success with this range and some excellent feedback from customers.
For example, a typical FLH-Z customer is now using 50% less replenisher than with the previous system.
With typical developer spend running into thousands of pounds each year, a reduction on this scale represents a considerable saving.
"We're seeing a huge uptake of our PRO-T processless plate, but recognise that this isn't the right choice for all of our customers.
The FLH-Z processors ensure that our processed plate customers can also achieve significant improvements in their environmental footprints with no compromise to quality or productivity".
The FLH-Z range extends from 85cm, through 125cm, 150cm to 165cm plate sizes and is therefore suitable for the entire thermal market.
Remote diagnostic facilities are also embedded within the system, enabling customers and Fujifilm's technical support teams to better diagnose issues that may affect production.
The solution is particularly suited to today's more demanding FM and hybrid screening algorithms, which are notoriously difficult to print on-press, resulting in easier to achieve, consistent, high quality print production.
