Inkjet Demo Suites Promote Large Format Potential

A Fujifilm Graphic Systems product story
Edited by the Printingtalk editorial team Dec 5, 2007

The potential of large format printing can be highlighted to companies considering a move in to that market at Fujifilm's three new inkjet printing demonstration suites across the UK.

The facilities at Fujifilm headquarters in Bedford, Jerry Makinson Laboratory in Preston and Hot Press in Bristol, will show businesses how to profit from offering a large format printing service.

Visitors to the demonstration suites will be able to see Fujifilm's Epson and HP large format printers in action and experience how they can interface with Fujifilm's Imagehunter software.

In addition, the facilities at Bedford include a Digital Photo Zone Kiosk incorporating Smartpix, which provides the opportunity to expand photo products with photogifts, such as photo quality posters and montages.

Peter Hayward of Fujifilm UK explained: "The current market is a challenging one and extending the services offered gives a real opportunity to increase business and profits.

Using inkjet printing to produce canvases, fine art and photography is an accessible way of adding a new revenue stream to boost profits and the three demonstration suites show how straight forward that can be." Fujifilm said its demonstration facilities use the Epson and Hewlett Packard printers.

The Fujifilm-Epson Stylus Pro inkjet printer and Hewlett Packard Designjet Z3100 are large format printers designed to work alongside Fujifilm's new Imagehunter software, which is said to be designed to print colours, or pure black and white on large-format media.

Primarily designed for printing images prepared with Adobe Photoshop, Imagehunter EPS allows for sizing and media selection for image files.

Smartpix demonstrated at the Bedford facility, is a software package designed to encourage users to increase the amount and type, of photos they print.

Smartpix includes a range of features to enable users to capitalise from the growing enthusiasm for photographic printing by offering customers a wider choice of services and products, including large format prints, montage posters, canvas prints and photo gifts.
