UV Wash System To Improve Press Performance

A Fujifilm Graphic Systems product story
Edited by the Printingtalk editorial team Feb 8, 2008

Kent (UK) printer, Offset Productions is buying a Pressmax UV wash system from Fujifilm to improve press performance and efficiency, reduce costs and improve print quality.

Fujifilm said that Pressmax is a range of environmentally-friendly pressroom chemistry and press care products.

Offset Productions undertakes all its procedures in-house, including design, pre-press and finishing.

Primarily a packaging and greeting cards printer, Offset's customers include Lings greetings cards.

Mark Jeavons, printing manager at Offset Productions, commented: "We have chosen the Pressmax washes because, as well as being extremely cost effective, they feature corrosion protection additives to maximise productivity and offer higher cleaning efficiency.

Because of this, they are not detrimental to the rubber rollers or printing plates we use, so causing no disruption to our normal way of working." Fujifilm added that Pressmax washes are compatible with conventional, UV and hybrid inks and are suitable for use in manual and automatic cleaning devices.

Fast-drying and low odour variants are also available.

Other products in the Pressmax range include founts and auxiliaries.

The founts are available for heatset, sheet-fed and mini-web presses, in reduced and alcohol-free versions.

They are claimed to support a variety of dampening systems and work with conventional, UV and hybrid, or metal inks.

The company added that Pressmax auxiliaries also include a day-to-day and maintenance items, encompassing plate care, fount auxiliaries and cleaning products.
