Fusion Systems International has launched a Windows-based version of its Digipage Room workflow plug-in for Harlequin-based RIPs, such as the Fusion RIP.

Fusion Systems International has launched a Windows-based version of its Digipage Room workflow plug-in for Harlequin-based RIPs, such as the Fusion RIP.

The plug-in is said to enable single-page processing and facilitates post-RIP imposition workflows.

Digipage is also said to provide 100 per cent digital integrity between preview, proofing and the final plate and printed work.

It functions like an output device plug-in, and all setup and administration is performed through standard Harlequin Page set-up dialogues, added Fusion Systems.

The RIP outputs one Digipage file for each page or job file sent to the RIP.

30-day free evaluation copies of the plug-in are available from the downloads page of Fusion Systems International's website.

Digipage automatically creates anoutput directory for each job, based on the job name.

Each Digipage file contains all of the required production elements: - screened and trapped 1-bit TIFF separations, a composite colour proofing file (8-bit TIFF) created from the 1-bit TIFF separations (down-sampled and de-screened), and a 72 dots per inch (dpi) preview file, added the company.

The plug-in is claimed to enable single-page RIPing and trapping, which requires less resources than does RIPing and trapping entire imposition flats.

This accelerates correction cycles because only those pages needing corrections are re-ripped, and the newly ripped pages automatically overwrite the incorrect pages.

The Digipage output files are compatible with all PostScript and imposition layout applications, OPI server applications, proofing devices, imagesetters, computer-to-plate devices, and digital presses.

For users still outputting film, Digipage also provides a means of tm,aking the transition to computer-to-plate technology.

Digipage also has a built-in script processor that facilitates automation, database and third-party workflow integration, or other user required task automation capabilities.

If a routine task, such as file routing, page proofing and file name cleansing can be scripted, then it can also be automated using Digipage, it is claimed and almost any scripting language can be used.
