Using open technology and formats, they do not lock customers in to one vendor, added the company.
As a result of integrating Digipage and FTIFF open systems in to new or existing workflows, newspaper and publishing companies can reduce their advertising rebates, with no charges and charge backs.
"That's nothing new.
What is new are the features that will push deadlines back even further," continued Robinson.
Digipage is a ROOM workflow plug-in and FTIFF is a workflow accelerator plug-in.
They are said to be suitable for any pre-press environment running Harlequin RIPs on Windows, Linux, or Mac OS X.
Because they have the same interface common to all Harlequin RIP users, they are easy to set-up and to use, said Fusion.
The company added that Digipage and FTIFF are not just for newspaper publishers.
They are equally valuable for any commercial printer or in-house plant using Harlequin RIPs for Windows, Linux, or Mac OS X, such as the Fusion RIP for Mac OS X.
They also work with Fusion's web-based pre-press administrative tool, Print Production Manager.
Fusion said that webinars are available for companies wishing to learn more about Digipage, FTIFF, or automated pre-press workflow soystems.
Free, fully-functional evaluation copies of the plug-ins are also available from the Fusion website.
The company added that to use the new Mac OS X and Windows plug-ins, users must have a same-platform Harlequin RIP.
It is possible to evaluate the OS X plug-in with an evaluation copy of Fusion's Mac OS X RIP, which is also available for download.
The 4.06a Linux release of Digipage and FTIFF plug-ins is imminent.
Fusion's Linux RIP is available for evaluation by download as well.
