Gane Brothers and Lane has launched its Hyflex line of cover materials.

Gane Brothers and Lane has launched its Hyflex line of cover materials.

Hyflex is a latex-saturated cover stock with an acrylic-coated surface designed for applications that demand superior graphic cover materials said Gane Brothers.

The construction of the Hyflex material is claimed to provide exceptional offset print quality with a strong bond formed between the paper and the ink, creating a resilient finished product.

Under distress, the printing on Hyflex will not crack as easily as a litho sheet, with the products covered in Hyflex maintaining a luxurious appearance while resisting the signs of normal wear and tear, claimed the company.

The latex-saturated fibres provide strength and are said to eliminate the need for film lamination after printing.

That translates in to cost savings over traditional lithography paper stocks, which are often laminated to ensure durability, said Gane Brothers.

The Hyflex line is available in thicknesses ranging from 5.5mm to 12mm ex-stock.

A variety of embossed finishing options are also available.

Hyflex may be used as a cover material on turned-edge and self-supporting books, as well as it being suitable for use in decorative packaging applications or on folding or set-up boxes, said the company.
