Gane Brothers and Lane has reached an agreement to become a distributor of On Demand Machinery.

On Demand Machinery manufactures a complete line of machinery designed for hard cover binding.

Its products include casing in, building in, cover dewarping, pattern gluing, air pressing and all-in-one casemaking systems.

Jeff Carlson, Gane's vice president of marketing, said: "On Demand Machinery is a natural fit for our customers and a perfect compliment to our line of cover materials.

We have seen an increased need for short-run, on demand products for the publishing industry.

The machines will meet that need and exceed our customers' expectations in terms of quality and reliability." The highlight of the On Demand Machinery product line is the ODM Casemaking System.

The machine is claimed to simplify casemaking by offering a cover gluer, case gauge, turning machine and rotary press in a single, economical unit.

The system will produce 60 to 100 covers per hour and may be configured for two operators, said Gane.
