Gandinnovations will showcase its Jeti 3318 grand-format printer, 2006 at the Graphics of the Americas exhibition in Miami, Florida (USA) from February 3-5 With world-wide sales approaching 400 Jeti grand-format printers, Gandinnovations said that it is looking to capitalise on its global sales by appealing to the company's Spanish speaking prospects

Gandinnovations will take to the show distributors from several south American countries.

The Jeti 3318 printing area (3.3m) is the same as the traditional Jeti 3312 but its head carriage now hosts 18 Spectra Print Heads.

The ink designation is three heads per colour, allowing for six-colour combinations.

The Jeti 3318's claimed print speed is 51 square metres per hour in best mode and 68 square metres in production mode.

The printer has had a software upgrade, which can detect if any individual nozzle may be misfiring.

The software will automatically compensate the saturation, safe-guarding the image output, said the company.

The so-called safe-proof technology is the first of its kind in the grand-format arena, believes Gandinnovations.

Also included with the automatic head capping feature is an automated air vacuum system, which eliminates manual head wiping.
