White UV Ink Print In One Pass Without
Shadow
New high density UV curable white ink is claimed to provide brilliant white print in one pass without any shadow effect on coloured rigid substrates.
The new white ink, from Gandinnovations is also said to adhere to rigid materials, including corrugated plastic, styrene, PVC, acrylic and 'exotic' substrates such as metals, leather and brown cardboard stock, for example Additionally, the Gandi UV white ink can be used as a spot colour to bring in to focus certain parts of an image printed on coloured substrates and even on transparent media, said Gandinnovations

Grand Format Printing For Back-Lit Production
Gandinnovations said it has been working diligently developing new technology for the grand format industry.
Gandinnovations said it has also made the new white ink using a flexible formula so it will not crack even when the rigid substrate is bent 360 degrees.
That gives the flexibility to use it in many applications.
The company added that it has also used white pigments to give good outdoor life without discolouring and cracking, whilst like its UV-curable inks, the Gandi UV white ink is a 100 per cent solvent-free formulation using only the safest radiation curable raw materials that do not result in the emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
That is said to make the ink safe to use and environmentally friendly, reducing worker exposure to hazardous substances and environmental pollution.
The company's proprietary manufacturing process and additives used to produce the UV white ink makes it possible to disperse more pigment in to the formula, whilst still keeping a stable sub-micron white ink suspension, said Gandinnovations.
That means that it is now possible to achieve greater opacity with less ink laid down with one print pass, where other UV curable white inks usually require more ink laid down and more than one print pass.
