Liquid Laminator Complements UV Flatbed Printers

A Gandinnovations product story
Edited by the Printingtalk editorial team Feb 15, 2008

The Alliance Technology Cyclone UV liquid laminator has been added to the Gandinnovations product range and is said to be complementary to the company's Jeti UV flatbed digital printers.

The Cyclone laminator is claimed to be designed for rigid materials up to 2" thick.

It is equipped with UV light, which can laminate between 30-110 linear feet per minute, whilst the UV lamp allows for fast drying, which allows the user to lay down a variable thickness of laminate, said Gandinnovations.

The dryer has a lower stand-by lamp setting to conserve energy.

Gandinnovations added that the Cyclone is compatible with the company's new Premium UV-curable inks, which are featured in all three of its Jeti flatbed printers.

The company also said that it provides what it claimed is a durable clear varnish that is scratch resistant and protects the finished print for outdoor use.

Gandinnovations believes that Cyclone UV liquid laminator gives its customers the ability to apply a glossy or matte finish to finished prints without waiting.

The laminator accommodates two five gallon containers of liquid laminate, allowing users to change from a gloss to matte laminate by closing and opening valves, whilst the self-contained units are said to need minimal clean-up.

The Cyclone will be available in two models, the Cyclone UV60 and Cyclone UV80.

The UV60 has a maximum coating width of 60" (1.6 metres) and provides a coating thickness of between 6micron to 18micron.

It is said to operate at a coating or dryer speed of between 30 feet per minute to 110 feet per minute.

The coater measures 38" x 105" x 62", whilst the dryer is 96" x 90" x 50".

The Cyclone UV80 has a maximum coating width of 80" (two metres), with a coating thickness of 6micron to 18micron and it is said to operate at coater and dryer speed of 30 feet to 110 feet per minute.

The size of the coater is 45" x 128" x 65", whilst the dryer is 96" x 114" x 52".
