GBC is demonstrating on stand D05 in Hall 11 at Drupa a wide range of equipment and materials their equipment and consumables for all printing processes and applications.
GBC is demonstrating on stand D05 in Hall 11 at Drupa a wide range of equipment and materials for a variety of printing processes and applications.
The Voyager 3 with stacker is a medium to high volume one-sided laminator, running at a claimed 50 metres per minute, that includes an integrated feeder and separator.
It is designed to process a variety of high-speed commercial thermal films at a size of 76cm x 102cm.
The compact Delta laminating system with slitter is also being demonstrated during Drupa.
It is based on the ability to change stock, size and film quickly and operates at a claimed speed of 20 metres per minute and covers a maximum working width of 52cm x 74cm.
It is also said to be suitable for shorter runs.
GBC's new high-speed laminator The Centurion 2 is said to be a high speed, completely integrated laminating system with feeder, separator and stacker.
Although it is not being demonstrated during Drupa, the system is claimed to laminate up to 102cm x 140cm at a speed of 60 metres per minute.
It has an optional closed circuit water-cooling system with chill roller.
With its extended range of commercial laminators, GBC believes it can offer finishing options that meet the requirements of every professional printer and trade finisher.
A new hard coat, scuff-free thermal laminate film GBC has been launched at Drupa.
The polypropylene film for one-sided lamination is said to resist scratches due to its hard coat, matt surface.
The film is combination of polypropylene film and abrasion-resistant coating which gives the printed material a striking appearance, it is claimed.
It protects book covers and dust jackets, for instance and will not scuff in production, transit, or when handled.
Furthermore the coating dramatically reduces the amount of returns, resulting in improved margins for publishers, said GBC.
GBC is also presenting a new Gloss and Matt OPP laminating film with what the company believes are superior adhesion properties, flatness and winding quality.
The company said the film is completely water resistant and can be used for all kind of outdoor applications.
Also on show are different finishes of pre-embossed film.
Besides the popular linen structure, GBC is introducing a number of new patterns.
The pre-embossed film provides a textured finish that is said to add durability and protection to book covers, with cost savings.
Aimed at the on-demand print market is GBC's new Mercury low-mid volume, one-sided finishing system designed for copy shops and in-house printing departments.
The new tabletop laminating system with a semi-automatic feeder and automatic separator laminates at speeds up to three metres per minute and will finish sheets up to 52cm wide.
Together with the Hi-Tac Lay-Flat film, specially designed for the output of digital printers with heavy toner coverage, GBC believes Mercury will dramatically improve the finished appearance of the printed output.
