GBC Films Group Europe is presenting a new packaging technology at Drupa 2004.

GBC Films Group Europe is presenting a new packaging technology at Drupa 2004.

Bilitene is GBC's internationally patented process to produce bags and envelopes and marks the company's entry into flexible packaging.

The Bilitene process is used in conjunction with sheet offset printing using thermal lamination as a finishing process and is a completely new system claimed GBC.

A GBC Bilitene bag is composed of three layers - one printed sheet and two rolls of GBC film.

This new layering concept produces customised packaging products either low volume, or on an industrial scale.

The flexibility and ease of manufacture make the Bilitene process a clever business opportunity for advertising and publishing materials, textile products such as promotional items, postal and transport documents and stationery products, replacing existing blister and skin products that are expensive to produce claimed GBC.

The company said Bilitene combines strength of materials, high print quality and durability for longer life.

The packs can be customised in a variety of designs and sizes and produced in different shapes and quantities.

There are no limits to the combinations, it is claimed.

Michel Diruy, European business development director of GBC Films Group said: "GBC is consistently developing innovative products.

As global leaders in the field of film technology, our research and development staff has the expertise and the understanding of the markets today.

Bilitene is an exciting concept for the packaging market and we are confident that it will become the popular choice.".
