Laminator System For 102cm Presses

In response to the ever-increasing installed base of 102cm wide commercial presses, GBC Films Group Europe has developed the 102cm wide Centurion2 integrated laminating system.

In response to the ever-increasing installed base of 102cm wide commercial presses, GBC Films Group Europe has developed the 102cm wide Centurion2 integrated laminating system incorporating a feeder, laminator, separator and stacker.

All the elements are claimed to be fully synchronised to produce finished products.

The claimed versatility of the lamination system allows the user to run sheet sizes from 25cm x 28cm up to 102cm x 140cm, using a wide range of thermal laminating films and in various thicknesses and finishing characteristics.

Compared to traditional 76cm wide laminators, the Centurion2 offers a 35 per cent productivity increase, operating at 60 metres per minute runs said GBC.

"The Centurion2 was created to increase productivity levels without compromising on flexibility, thus making it available for a wide range of applications.

Thermal lamination is very environmental and operator friendly and guarantees, combined with our films, consistent and high quality levels.

With the new Centurion2, we can offer very cost-effective thermal laminating," explained Giel Klinkers, marketing manager for GBC.

The integrated stacker of the Centurion2 significantly increases productivity levels, reducing human labour and thereby considerably improving the production turn-around.

The system is said to be easily run by one operator utilising an ergonomic, centrally located control panel.

The system minimises scrap and wastage, thus offering significant environmental benefits claimed GBC.

The airshaft on the Centurion2 has been designed to enable film rolls to be easily loaded and adjusted, along with an adjustable film slitter to permit optimum film stock usage.

Its feeder unit is equipped with a new electronic control system for easy set-up of sheet length and overlap.

The dual system feeder-head lifts and advances the sheets, increasing accuracy and facilitating a consistent feed.

The fully integrated stacker, including direct pallet off loading, significantly contributes to the Centurion2's productivity.

An optional closed circuit water cooling system with chill roller ensures optimum output said GBC.
