New Thermal Laminating Film At Digital Print World
GBC Films Group Europe will be exhibiting some of its latest thermal laminating systems for commercial on-demand and wide-format finishing at Digital Print World in London.
GBC Films Group Europe, part of Acco Brands Corporation, will be exhibiting some of its latest thermal laminating systems for commercial on-demand and wide-format finishing at Digital Print World in London.
Visitors to the GBC stand - 780 - will see the new thermal OPP specialty film range and GBC's management will be available to explain the advantages of thermal lamination for the commercial and on-demand market.
The Delta laminating system will be.
GBC said the system was designed with the capability to quickly and easily change stock, size and film.
The Delta is said to be compact and fully automated, operating at claimed speeds of up to 20 metres per minute and covering a maximum working width of 52cm x 74cm.
The system is suitable for short runs.
On the film-side, GBC will present an OPP-based film that is said to feature a strong adhesive to ensure better adhesion to digital output.
GBC will demonstrate the Talon 64 laminator, which is designed for mid-range volume finishing.
It will be demonstrated along with the new self-adhesive Arctic High-Volume film for finishing indoor and outdoor applications for medium-term use.
A new improved version of Arctic Dura Mount will also be shown.
The double-sided permanent mounting film has been reformulated for greater versatility by using a PE-liner.
The release-liner resists wear or rubbing and is not affected by humidity or variances in temperature, said the company.
Later this year GBC will launch its 2080 WFt, which is said to be a cost-effective two-metre wide laminator with a top-heated roller that supports temperatures of up to 120 degrees C and allows hot films to be run as an over-laminate.
New additions to GBC's thermal OPP range include the 8600 Silk OPP, 8450 Alubrush and an improved version of the 8450 Linen film.
The 8600 Silk OPP is said to provide a soft, refined finish option to the standard Gloss and Matt OPP range.
The Silk film creates a non-reflective surface and is said to be suitable for brochures and books that require an elegant, lightly matt finish.
The 8450 Linen and Alubrush films are said to offer important cost savings as the pattern is already built in to the film, no further investments to the technical environment are necessary, said GBC.
An added plus is consistent output, resulting in less waste and higher profits.
The company believes that the new ranges of films and supported applications will enable it to offer enhanced finishing options, whilst providing a convincing incentive for traditional laminators to adopt thermal lamination.
