New Laminating Films Give More Bond Strength

GBC Commercial Laminating Solutions Group has launched the new Supreme Gloss and Matt OPP films.

The new films are claimed to have adhesion properties that give more bond strength and less flagging.

The Supreme OPP also film features better esthetics and optimized flatness and winding qualities, claimed GBC.

The company added that like all of its thermal laminating film the Supreme Gloss and Matt OPP films meet industry quality standards are they are designed to run at high speeds.

The adhesive used is said to provide stronger bonding and less flagging defaults, which results in more cost-effective production, whilst allowing further finishing to run smoother and generating less waste when cutting the prints.

The new Supreme Gloss OPP film has a thickness of 25.5micron and it has been developed for high speed lamination and for single-sided and double-sided finishing and can be applied throughout the graphic arts market place with trade finishers, digital and offset printers.

GBC added that polypropylene is a good general purpose material and widely used for lamination due to its low cost and all-round durability.

A polypropylene film with copolymer adhesion, the Supreme Gloss OPP has a clear finish with acid-resistant properties and high clarity.

With a temperature range of 105 degrees - 115 degrees C, it is designed for laminating book covers, brochures, folders and marketing material, for instance.

GBC also claimed that the Supreme Matt OPP has an excellent optical finish and it is suitable for further finishing, such as spot varnish, UV varnish, embossing and foil stamping.

The company added that customer feedback said that the Supreme Matt OPP is the mattest, highest quality and best to use film on the market today.

With a matt finish to minimise glare and preserve image colour, Supreme Matt is said to give books and packaging a luxurious appearance to attract the buyers' attention and increase the perceived value of the product.

GBC commented that it is committed to offering finishing materials that will convince traditional laminators to convert to thermal lamination.

The new adhesive used on the Supreme film proves GBC's dedication to innovation and quality.
