Wide Format Laminators Launch At FESPA
New laminators from GBC Commercial Laminating Solutions Group will be on show during FESPA in Berlin from June 5 - 9.
GBC will demonstrate its expanded product range ofcold laminators, which includes low-entry level up to professional high quality models, for short term indoor and long-term outdoor applications in hall 3.2 on stand C345 at FESPA.
The company will introduce two new products to its digital print finishing portfolio, the entry-level 1064 WFt and the 2064 WF for semi-professionals.
New films and consumables for the wide format printing market will also be launched.
The 1064 WFt wide format cold laminating machine is claimed to laminate up to 157cm or 64" with a top-heated roller up to 50 degrees C to reduce initial silvering to ensure a more consistent output quality.
The laminator is said to provide cost effective lamination for the signage, photographic, copy shop and screen printing market and is suitable for print-for-pay companies and service providers looking for an entry-level machine that produces quality lamination in-house, said GBC.
The 1064 WFt is also said to be suitable for use alongside wide format inkjet printers, affording greater control, saving time and offering cost savings.
GBC's 2064 WF is a said to be versatile wide-format laminating machine that operates at up to five metres per minute in both directions.
According to the company it provides lamination for trade show graphics, POP displays, flexible or rigid displays, backlit displays, vehicle graphics, floor graphics, posters and banners.
The laminator is appropriate for companies that need a system for producing a semi-professional lamination volume.
The handling of numerous applications is ensured through multiple winds and unwinds, along with the bi-directional capability.
The 2064 WF has features that facilitate ease of operation and time reduction, such as swing out shafts, with auto-grip core chucks that facilitate loading and unloading.
A re-positionable foot pedal offers the option of hands-free operation and cleaning via high release silicone rollers for additional time savings.
The machine's digital display for pressure, temperature and film footage provides production control for the operator and its rollers feature pre-sets to accommodate common board and laminate gauges, added the company.
GBC will also display its Signmaker range during FESPA, which is available in two widths, 65cm and 109cm, to enable production of store signage, window graphics and vinyl banners for short-term outdoor use.
The new GBC Clear Accushield film for photo-finishing will be presented on GBC's stand.
The film is claimed to add a glossy coating to boards and supports printing directly on to the substrate to increase mechanical properties and scratch resistance.
lear Accushield is said to be 100 per cent clear and has improved UV-properties to ensure longer term durability.
The 2064 WF wide format laminating machine is claimed to provide maximum results when paired with GBC's newest films, the Octiva LM textured satin 75/250u, the Octiva LM LB 85u for POS displays and the Octiva LM Canvas 200u for portrait graphics.
The Octiva Lo-Melt thermal laminating film contains light management additives to enhance laminated prints.
GBC said its thermal films are formulated with Prelumea technology with the capability to whiten and brighten most prints without the use of bleaches, or optical brighteners.
Prelumea controls the amount and distribution of ambient light that is reflected back to the viewer throughout the visible colour spectrum, yielding 'whiter whites'.
The company added that the effect is most dramatic under short wavelengths or high-energy light sources (HID) lights, such as the metal halide lamps used in trade show halls and in cool white or 'daylight' type fluorescent bulbs used in offices.
During FESPA, GBC Professional will also release the latest additions to its Arctic HV range, the Arctic solvent gloss and matt films that are said to be suitable for indoor and outdoor short-term applications.
The Arctic Sand 125u film has a light sand structure and is a cost-effective cold over-lamination developed for the POS market.
The Arctic Choice and Arctic Select are for long-term outdoor applications, warranted up to five and seven years.
