GMG is to show a fundamentally revised version of its Colorproof 04 and several new proofing products at Drupa 2004.

The latest version of the Colorproof software, which the company has code-named 04 is due for full release in March and it will be the highlight of the company's suite of proofing technologies at the show.

GMG will also launch its Flexoproof 04, designed specifically for the flexo market and its Inkoptimizer.

Colorproof's new features include a high level of automation and what the company calls a seamless integration into various workflow systems.

By integrating the Medienkeil (Fogra colour bar), GMG claims it has answered the growing demand for standardisation and brings high-end colour management within the capability of all users.

The company said a complete package would be available before Drupa that enables the user to verify and document the conformity of each proof by checking the colour bar.

It will consist of the application software, a Gretag spectrophotometer, and a small label printer.

This application is also part of an extensive remote-proofing concept that will be shown at Drupa for the first time.

GMG has also announced that it has fundamentally changed its pricing structure and software costs are now based on inkjet printer output sizes.

The company's Flexoproof 04 features an out-of-register and a printing substrate simulation.

The product also includes Dotproof to generate contract-quality halftone proofs.

Inkoptimizer has been successfully field-tested at several large printers, said the company.

It is designed to automatically reduce the amount of chromatic colours, thus producing claimed ink savings of up to 25 %, whilst maintaining quality and improving printing conditions.

" At Drupa the market will see the impressive results of our significant development efforts over the last months.

This is the first time that the company has presented such a broad range of products and the event heralds a new phase in the company's steady and continued expansion worldwide," said Robert Weihing, GMG's chief executive officer.

GMG's stand at Drupa is D74, hall 9.
