QC System's Total Control Over Colour Management
GMG's Proofcontrol 04 quality control system is now available.
The package consists of the application software, a Gretag spectrophotometer, and a small label printer.
The application is also part of a remote-proofing concept, which will be officially shown in North America for the first time.
Proofcontrol 04 is a package of complementary hardware and software to provide a quality control system.
It documents and proofs in compliance with SWOP and Gracol standards or any other industry or custom standard.
It also provides control over the entire proofing process, immediately detecting the slightest variation in colour.
Because it documents every proof, GMG believes it provides the printer with a secure customer record of approved proofs.
Flexoproof 04 for flexo and packaging has an out-of-register and a printing substrate (for instance, cardboard) simulation.
The product also includes Dotproof, GMG's system that allows users to generate contract-quality halftone proofs.
The Inkoptimizer, which has been successfully field-tested at several large printers, is said to automatically reduce the amount of chromatic colours to provide ink savings of up to 25 per cent on the press, while maintaining quality, and improving printing conditions.
Camflow is an automated workflow application that handles RGB data from various systems in different colour spaces and automatically neutralises, optimises, sharpens and separates it into the desired target colour space.
