Doubled Proofing Kit Boosts Speed And Precision
W Digamma, a member of the SMG group, has doubled its complement of GMG Colorproof o4 proofing systems within a year.
"Towards the end of last year we decided to bring our systems in to line with those of our key client Prisma Presse and the printers with whom we work.
As a result, we purchased five GMG Colorproof systems, one for each agency," explained Eric Veyrier, technical director at Quart de Pouce.
At the same time Quart de Pouce took stock of eight-colour Epson Stylus PRO 4000, 4800 and 7600 inkjet printers.
The introduction of the GMG Colorproof systems, which are certified by the French National Association of Graphic Communication and Printing (Sicogif), ensures a consistent colour rendition, said GMG.
Today, Quart de Pouce offers reproduction accuracy for printed documents by simulating the specifications of the printing process used.
That is essential for prestigious clients, such as Capital, Geo or National Geographic magazines and advertisers in the Paris region.
"We can rely on the system to provide consistent colour reproduction.
In addition, the flexibility of GMG Colorproof's front-end allows us to either use the profiles supplied by our printers or to specify personalised profiles to suit them," explained Veyrier.
Since switching to Epson printers fitted with Colorproof front-end, productivity in pre-press has soared by 95 per cent, whilst maintaining proof quality, said GMG.
"Compared to our previous systems, the increase in productivity we have achieved is phenomenal.
Compared to the 15 minutes it used to take to output an A4 colour proof, colour contract-proof production can now be achieved in under 90 seconds," observed Veyrier.
The introduction of GMG systems does not stop there, as Veyrier explained that two other GMG Colorproof systems are to be installed at Quart de Pouce Nord in January.
GMG reseller and graphics and IT provider O2i, which has been collaborating with Quart de Pouce since its creation in 1997, implemented the GMG Colorproofs.
"Quart de Pouce is an example that highlights the significance of our products.
We provide our clients with the reliability and productivity they require when printing proofs, without compromising on quality," said Herve Schwertz of GMG France.
