Advertising agency Australie, in Levallois, has invested in GMG Colorproof to enable it to produce proofs for the publication and production of visuals.

The integration was carried out by O2i, a GMG France reseller.

GMG Colorproof is now implemented on two printers, Epson Stylus Pro 4000 and 7600.

"The result, which is very close to the finished printed product in a magazine or publication, enables our creative staff to adjust content well before the production phase, and thus avoid incessant to-ings and fro-ings between the client and the agency during the advert finalisation phase," explained Pierre Jean Sastre, production director at Australie.

In response to requests from the agency's artwork department, Pierre Jean Sastre was looking for a standardised proofing system that was simple to implement and would quickly enable the production output on quality substrates.

The agency uses Colorproof and 260gsm gloss and semi-matte GMG Proofpaper on a daily basis to produce press advertisements, present visuals to its clients and send contract proofs to printers.

"GMG Colorproof meets the agency's expectations in terms of standardisation and gives it a platform for upgrading to the GMG colour halftone system," said Philippe Bezaguet, sales director at O2i.

A no-compromise proofing system that was close to real output was imperative for Australie to meet its advertising clients' requirements, said GMG.

Colorproof took part in comparative tests before being bought.

Its technology, based on a 4-D colour transformation engine, maintains the integrity of the black channel and guarantees colour accuracy, it is claimed.

GMG's colour technology is SICOGIF, Fogra, ECI, 3DAP, PPA and SWOP certified.

Colorproof is said to enable the use of standard ICC profiles or customised GMG profiles that comply fully with the standards set out by professional bodies in the industry, added the company.

Australie is a global communications agency.

In 2005, its portfolio of corporate accounts included E Leclerc, Nouvelles Frontieres, CIC, Contrex and Gaz de France, amongst others.

The agency employs 30 creative staff and 33 sales people acting as a link between the client's brand or image and consumers.

Australie takes on all types of media and non-media advertising projects such as posters, press advertisements, mailings and catalogues, for instance.
