GMG UK will be displaying its high-end colour management and proofing systems at Publishing Expo, at Olympia 2 in London (UK) from February 14 - 15.

GMG UK is joining with its reseller City and West End on stand number A212, where GMG's Colorserver, Colorproof and Proofcontrol will be on display.

The GMG systems will drive the Epson 4800 Stylus Pro eight-color inkjet printer and the HP eight-color Designjet Z2100 photo printer.

They will be demonstrating flexible, calibrated proofs for publishing applications.

Focusing on content and delivery within the publishing world, Publishing Expo is appropriate for GMG UK to showcase its range of colour management systems that will appeal directly to the needs of the magazine market, believes the company.

Ian Scott, GMG UK country manager, said: "Publishing Expo is the perfect forum for us to show our latest suite of products.

Digital proofing has rapidly become the de facto process in the publishing industry." Visitors will see the latest Colorproof Automated bundle, including Colorproof for calibrating digital inkjet proofing engines to produce contract colour proofs.

It will be shown alongside GMG's Proofcontrol for digital proof quality monitoring.

The latest version of GMG's Colorserver for automatic colour conversions, will also be on show, demonstrating the efficiencies it can bring to publishing production workflows, added the company.

Colorproof is claimed to manage digital inkjet proofing engines to produce digital contract colour proofs, precisely colour-matched to the actual printing press.

Colorproof supports all standard spot colour systems with up to 64 individual colour channels and is compatible with standard ICC profiles, which can be combined with GMG profiles.

The Colorproof system features a variety of workflow capabilities and handles a range of file formats, including TIFF-IT, DCS, Postscript, and PDF (up to level 1.4) added the company.

Colorserver is said to provide automatic colour space conversions (CMYK-to-CMYK, RGB-to-CMYK and RGB-to-RGB) scaling, sharpening, separation and optimisation of pixel and PDF image data.

The software allows, for example, the conversion of one CMYK colour space to another, whilst keeping the integrity of the black channel.

GMG said that offset data, for instance, can be automatically converted to gravure data.

In addition, Colorserver is claimed to provide acceleration and complete automation of work processes by accurate, high-speed colour transformations resulting in cost savings.

GMG said that its software supports a range of output engines, including inkjet printers from Epson, Hewlett-Packard and Canon and has added compatibility for large format printers, such as the Mutoh RJ8000 VLF printer.
