Pantone Colours Embedded In Proofing Systems

GMG said it is pleased to continue the partnership with Prepress IT following the company's move to Ireland.
Following his marriage last year, Prepress IT managing director Dan Wilson relocated the business to Ireland from Bondi Beach (Australia) where he ran a pre-press workflow, press room colour management and proofing systems operation for the past seven years.
GMG said that Wilson has colour and quality expertise having established a broad customer base with a range of companies in Australia from major newspapers, magazines and advertising agencies, to web, commercial and flexo printers.

GMG's Proofcontrol 04 quality control system is now available.
He is experienced in virtually every facet of the industry from pre-press through to offset and flexographic printing, added the company.
Wilson said: "I have been immersed in the graphic arts industry for more than 30 years and have a great grounding in pre-press and appreciation of most printing processes, which is perfect for my job of managing and advising on implementing best quality practices from pre-press through to managing colour on the press.
There is a great business opportunity in Ireland.
My colour expertise and GMG dealer status is a perfect combination and complements my quest to help print buyers, ad agencies, web, sheet fed and packaging printers to achieve first class print quality." Alongside GMG proofing systems, Prepress IT has a well rounded product portfolio to enable companies to achieve print predictable and calibrated results ensuring shorter make-ready times and reduced waste levels on press, added GMG.
For Judd Perring, director at GMG UK, Prepress IT is an ideal partner to successfully establish GMG's software systems to achieve further growth.
He said: "Appointing Prepress IT as our partner is an important development in Ireland as popularity of our products is ever increasing.
We are convinced that with the help of Dan Wilson a lot of customers will quickly understand the advantages of colour management proofing systems and their benefits on a daily basis." Irish printers, publishers and print buyers will also benefit from the fact that Dan Wilson is Europe's first 'Gracol G7 Certified Expert', he added.
G7TM is a press calibration methodology developed in the USA to match the visual appearance of the ISO 12647/2 print quality standard.
The G7 press calibration methodology is said to be suitable for all types of printing - sheet fed, web, flexo and even digital.
Printing to ISO Standards is generating considerable interest in the industry at present and using the revolutionary Gracol G7 method means print to proof predictability is finally achievable, believes GMG.
Wilson has just completed the first European installation of a G7 print predictability calibration at Business2Print in Clonshaugh, Dublin, which is now in full production with the process.
