The very latest version 5.1 of GMG's Colorproof is claimed to support new operating systems and any new proofing printer.

GMG said that version 5.1 of Colorproof supports all relevant proofing printers currently available and will be compatible with future proofing printer models, while that capability is mirrored with the company's halftone proofing software, Dotproof and Flexoproof for packaging proof applications.

Version 5.1 of Colorproof is said to be compatible with Microsoft Windows 7 and supports 64-bit computing, providing 32-bit and 64-bit software.

GMG added that it has developed a printer driver for the Epson Stylus Pro WT7900 printer to achieve colour accuracy and repeatability.

Several new technical features and performance improvements have been implemented in Colorproof 5.1 to provide production reliability and colour accuracy, said the company.

The advanced printing of history jobs, improved automatic nesting for saving media and time and the possibility of defining custom settings as default for jobs enable faster creation of manual jobs.

Furthermore, an overhaul of the gamut mapping algorithm is said to ensure the best photographic reproduction and new GMG Proofstandards are available for proofing as well as new PSR profiles.
