GMG to demonstrate Smartprofiler at Ipex 2010

A GMG GmbH and Co. KG product story

GMG is to demonstrate its colour management technology for digital and large-format printing for the packaging industry and commercial printing at Ipex 2010.

The company's Smartprofiler will be on show.

Smartprofiler is said to allow the creation of individual colour profiles and printer calibrations for digital and large-format printing systems.

Smartprofiler is a wizard that enables digital and large-format press users to achieve colour accuracy, repeatability and colour consistency with every printing system, according to GMG.

It is available as an additional option in combination with GMG's Colorserver colour management software for processing any kind of colour conversions.

The software is claimed to help increase productivity, production reliability and the colour quality of products, regardless of which printing process is applied.

At Ipex 2010, GMG said that flexo and packaging print houses will learn how to produce high-quality, contract level packaging proofs and mock-ups.

The combination of Colorserver and Smartprofiler colour management software and the UV inkjet printers of the UJF-605 series from Mimaki for packaging applications enables digital proofing on original substrates, such as shrink or metallic foils, tin and compound boards, and the production of colour-accurate packaging mock-ups with white ink and varnish support.

GMG added that nearly any printing stock can be used with the GMG and Mimaki systems combined.

Due to the inks of the Mimaki printer, it is possible to apply the same finishing process as that which will be applied to the final product.

The combination of GMG proofing software and the Epson Stylus Pro WT7900 white ink printer is said to be suitable for high-end contone and halftone proofing on transparent or metallic foils.

Colorproof contone proofing software and the halftone modules of Flexoproof XG and Dotproof XG exploit the expanded colour gamut of the Epson Stylus Pro WT7900 inkjet printer up to the maximum.

Quality and repeatability can be produced even for spot colours and white simulation in flexographic, offset and gravure printing.

At Ipex 2010, GMG will also exhibit its portfolio of software to colour manage the graphic workflow from pre-press to print production in terms of completely standardised colours and printing processes.

GMG will demonstrate the such software tools as Inkoptimiser for ink reduction and Printcontrol and Rapidcheck for printing process control.
