Gemini Group and Beards Digital are to merge in a move that is said will form the Sussex's (UK) largest print company.

It is claimed that the merger will increase Gemini Group's digital printing capabilities and see the group offer extra finishing facilities, including perfect binding.

The combined turnover of the new group will reach GBP20 million and the merger will see staff from Beards relocate to Shoreham-By-Sea, close to Gemini's headquarters on the Dolphin Way Industrial Estate, increasing the number of people employed by the group to 220.

The Gemini Group comprises 12 companies from Bristol across the English south coast to Bexhill-on-Sea and provides a litho print service from initial concept, through to the finished printed product.

Headed by Julie Beard, Beards Digital was formed in 1952 and it provides a digital print service across the region.

Nigel Holmes, Gemini's managing director, commented: "The merger of Gemini with Beards makes perfect commercial sense.

It will expand the group's offer of digital printing capabilities resulting in a huge upturn in business for both companies." Julie Beard, managing director at Beards added: "The merging of Beards with Gemini will provide a strong offer for all print work not only in the South East but across the UK.

Both businesses have an unrivalled track record in delivering quality print on time and within budget.

This is an exciting time for all concerned and we can't wait to move.".
