Jan 02 Gimle has released Absoluteproof version 2, with new features, including halftone proofing.

Absoluteproof is now claimed to produce true halftone up to a 110 line screen.

Gimle said that Absoluteproof has been successful in the newspaper industry and now has multiple installations where users are now producing halftone proofs on newsprint paper.

Gimle has also signed-up as a developer for Epson, Hewlett Packard and Roland printers.

As a result, the company said that Absoluteproof now drives most Epson, Hewlett Packard and Roland printers in their native languages, in addition to the PostScript printers.
