Software Measures Print Productivity KPIs
Trends is the latest addition to the suite of software and data collection tools for print productivity management available from Girus.
Improving that figure up to 80 per cent - 85 per cent would have implications for margins and profitability for the average printing company.
Recognising the gap in productivity, Girus said the company was created to provide managers in printing companies with the tools they need to improve shop-floor productivity and efficiency.
The company has claimed that it has designed an integrated set of products that unobtrusively monitor every second of activity on printing machines and measure every metre of waste to provide a mass of information on key performance indicators and other data related to productivity.
Starting from that base, Girus claimed to have created a range of tools to help managers analyse the printing operation and manage print production more effectively on a day-to-day basis, as well as assisting them to introduce strategic change in to the workplace.
The company believes that it is the only system focused purely and exclusively on printing shop-floor productivity available and the only one that provides printing company management with all the tools they need to maximise shop-floor performance.
The Girus project was initiated and led by Mike Young, who has more than 20 years' experience in the printing industry, including over 10 years' involvement with shop floor data collection systems.
The new product range was designed and created at the Girus facility in Caerphilly, South Wales (UK) and by a team of engineers that are said to have experience in designing and installing systems for the printing industry.
Girus is a member of the Girus Management group of companies, which also includes Visi-tech Systems, a provider of video web inspection systems to OEMs and printing companies around the world.
