The Ghent PDF Workgroup (GWG) will debut its 2005 print and packaging specifications and its best practices for international document exchange at the Print 05 exhibition.
The Ghent PDF Workgroup (GWG) will debut its 2005 print and packaging specifications and its best practices for international document exchange at the Print 05 exhibition In addition to exhibiting on stand 12000 at McCormick North, GWG will lead an educational session providing an overview of GWG PDF specifications and how to use them for best practice workflows at on Sunday, September 11 in Room S102D

Graphic arts experts have come together to release version 4 (v4)of the Ghent Workgroup (GWG) specifications for automated workflow efficiency in a range of application and output environments.
The GWG is a global assembly of graphic arts professionals that collaborates with international standards organisations to test, develop and deploy best practices and specifications to guarantee streamlined workflows throughout the world.
Specifications are free and available for magazine, newspaper, web offset, and sheetfed offset.
The new 2005 specifications are for packaging, ICC colour-managed workflows (in PDF/X-3 workflows), and job tickets for advertisement and page-based workflows.
Additionally, the GWG Packaging Subcomittee will meet at Print 05 on September 13.
