The organisation said that its colour management meeting just held in Milan was held to encourage the involvement of Italian companies in the colour test phases being supervised by the GWG colour management (PDF/X-3) sub-committee.
Jo Brunenberg, the chairperson of the GWG colour management sub-committee, said: "We are pleased to have such important graphic arts companies join our efforts and express interest in testing for the GWG Subcommittee.
The extensive testing the group is involved with will benefit PDF/X-3 workflow users worldwide, as results will be integrated in to new specifications." Those participating in the Italian test group are: Pozzoli, Rotolito Lombarda, Grafiche dell'Artiere, Fontegrafica, ICR and Rotoalba.
Also involved are Artwork Italia and Fuji Italia.
Ester Crisanti, the vice president, TAGA Italia, said: "The Italian graphic arts community is today, more than ever, influencing and participating in the worldwide graphic arts marketplace.
It is therefore important for Italian graphic arts companies to become actively involved with the Ghent PDF Workgroup, which is facilitating collaborative testing and specification development among a cross-section of the world's graphic arts communities.
We are happy that these companies are eager to participate and have their voice heard and counted in the work of the Ghent PDF Workgroup.".
