Global Graphics is well advanced in its plans to launch a next generation OEM document platform during this year.
Quark uses the Jaws PDF Library to provide direct PDF output for high-end printing and cross media publishing from QuarkXPress, Quark's page layout and design software.
Quark also uses another Jaws component to provide full-resolution preview for EPS files that can be scaled or magnified with minimal pixelation, permitting page elements to be positioned more precisely.
The eDocument Library is Global Graphics' next generation of technology for electronic document applications and will eventually replace Jaws PDF Library whose functionality it significantly extends.
The engine at the heart of the eDocument Library is powerful enough to provide multiple file format conversions.
Any number of PDLs can be added including PDF, PostScript, PCL, XPS, proprietary formats, and open standards such as PDF/A and PDF/X.
With eDocument Library, the application developer also has unprecedented access to page-level and object-level information.
Via the comprehensive Application Programming Interface eDocument Library offers complete access to and manipulation of the objects, parameters and metadata of a document during the conversion process, including text, images, fonts and colour space.
Page-level access to documents is also possible, including page orientation, bookmarks, annotations, thumbnails and page labeling.
