The schedule includes touring seminars, customised on-site colour expert training and a range of workshops at the company's Centres for Colour Excellence in Zurich, Frankfurt, Birmingham, Paris, Florence and Milan.

There will be intensive one-day Eye-One training workshops that will cover colour management for those using or considering the Eye-One Match system.

The topics range from calibration to workflow.

Attendees learn hands-on about the creation and use of profiles using Eye-One Match and Share.

Those workshops will be staged as follows: Frankfurt (Germany) August 10, September 12, October 13, November 2 and December 12; Birmingham (UK) August 31 and November 9; Miland (Italy) Septebmer 12, October 10, November 21 and December 12; Zurich (Switzerland) September 12 and December 5 and Paris (France) September 28 and December 14.

The two-day introduction to colour management workshops will provide an excellent introduction to the essential components of colour management.

Attendees will gain the applied knowledge to implement digital colour management effectively and learn step-by-step how to achieve the best possible colour for the entire workflow, including capture, monitor, editing, proofing and final output.

They will be staged in Milan (Italy) on September 19 and 20 ; Birmingham (UK) on October 3 and 4; Zurich (Switzerland) on October 17 and 18; Paris (France) on November 15 and 16 and Frankfurt (Germany) on November 21 and 22.

The two-day Profilemaker workshops will teach the essentials of Profilemaker with an emphasis on profile creation, editing and judging.

GretagMacbeth will also discuss issues relevant to users workflows, such as matching Pantone colours, setting up desktop applications, batch conversions and using colour measurement instruments.

They will be held as follows: Zurich (Switzerland) August 29 and 30; Birmingham (UK) September 13 and 14; Frankfurt (Germany) October 16 and 17; Milan (Italy) October 17 and 18; Zurich (Switzerland) November 28 and 29 and Birmingham (UK) December 12 and 13.

Press optimisation and four-colour offset process control one-day courses are designed to teach all aspects of the CMYK offset printing process control in the pressroom.

The company will begin the sessions by explaining the instruments, software, procedures and industry standards.

Then delegates will learn the fundamentals of measuring densities, dot gains and ink trap using hand held instruments, whilst being taught how to use this information to fingerprint and profile presses.

GretagMacbeth said that, as a result, delegates will be able to conform to print standards, or even to establish their own custom shop specifications and process control best practices.

They will be held in Zurich, September 14 and December 7; Birmingham September 28 and November 21; Frankfurt, October 31; Milan, November 14.

There will also be a press optimisation and spot colour control advanced one-day course that will include how to measure spot colours, spot colour communication, LAB, colour quality, ink formulation and an overview of their use in different printing industries.

Attendees will be encouraged to bring materials from their plants, including films, plates, press sheets and measurement instruments.

GretagMacbeth said it is also offering on-site training on every issue related to colour management, which the company believes will be suitable for a raqnge of training needs specific to individual workflows and where there are several employees to train and where production cannot be interrupted.

Each on-site course is customised around companies workflows and particular goals.
