Software To Automate File Reception Debuts At Ipex
Gradual Software, developer of automation software for publishing workflows, will present its newest products at Ipex 06.
The new features include support for v4.01 of Enfocus Pitstop Server, in addition to v3.5.
There are also a number of enhancements and bug fixes and the list of configurators has been updated.
The Switch family is claimed to provide a scalable route to create automated workflows using standard software from major manufacturers.
With a common interface and penalty-free upgrades between family members, users can start with simple file handling and build to an 'intelligent', scripted flow that automates many mundane tasks currently done by skilled and well paid staff.
At the Northprint 07 exhibition, Gradual Software will demonstrate the Switch range, throughout the show on the Positive Focus' stand - M424.
The company will also be demonstrating many of the partner applications, particularly the PDF pre-flight and manipulation tools from Callas software, also distributed by Positive Focus.
The company said that for a limited time there are Northprint bundles of Switch and Callas products available, with claimed savings of 15 per cent on a bundle of Fullswitch with a single CLI product, chosen from PDFinspektor, PDFcolorconvert and PDFcorrect on a bundle of the workgroup enabled Powerswitch, with five clients and a full set of all three CLI products, which are now available collectively from Callas as CLI-Paket2.
Callas will be demonstrating the pre-flight capability of PDFinspektor4 using the technology that Callas license to Adobe for use in Acrobat 7 and 8.
It is claimed it can now check for over 800 faults in PDF files and produces manageable and understandable reports identifying problems.
The range of desktop applications, which operate as plug-ins to Acrobat, including PDFtoolBox2, will also be on show.
For people interested in long-term document management, Gradual Software said that it will be staging the first showing of PDFApilot in desktop and in server-based CLI versions.
PDFApilot validates for compatibility with the PDF/A standard and can convert existing PDF files to PDF/A format, with an expected life of 20 years, it is claimed.
