A software update will enable users to implement workflow automation systems that are tailored to meet the production needs of individual work environments.

The new update 8 from Gradual Software for its Switch 06 range of software - including Loghtswitch, Fullswitch and Powerswitch - supports the automation of Adobe Creative Suite 3 version of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat (on Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows), in addition to the CS2 versions.

Markzware Flightcheck Professional 6 (available on Mac OS X, PowerPC only), in addition to version 5.8 of Callas PDFInspektor4 CLI (on Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows) in addition to PDfInspektor3 CLI are also supported in the new version.

David van Driessche, chief operating officer of Gradual Software, commented: "From the initial release of Switch 06, it was our intention to have a regular minor update cycle.

That allows us to fix problems encountered by customers and to very quickly support new versions of applications released by our partners.

It's extremely important for our customers to have the freedom to upgrade to the latest technology from all of our partners." Peter Kleinheider, manager of the partner network at Callas Software, added: "We very much looked forward to update 8, since some additional features become available with this update.

The support for PDFInspektor4 incorporates the new checks that became available within Preflight of Acrobat 8.

Preflight Acrobat 8 comes with a completely new UI to generate pre-flight reports much more easily than with previous releases.

These profiles can now be used in Switch, together with PDFInspektor4 CLI.".
