Graphic Arts Equipment is to rebuild, refurbish and double the size of its London showroom to 500 square metres for a series of product launch open houses.
Commencing on September 27, UK customers will get the first chance to see many of the company's Work Smart systems first launched at Drupa including CTP, new Shinohara presses and a range of bindery systems.
The product launch events will predominantly feature many new automated bindery systems including Horizon's latest i2i Net Work Flow JDF bindery, with live demonstrations featuring perfect binding, saddle stitching and folding in an integrated bindery network, showing how intelligent automated systems can bring quality, speed, flexibility and profit to the bindery, said GAE.
GAE is also launching the Perfecta TVC 76 guillotine, which aims to increase productivity through intelligent interactive touch-screens and flow-line technology as well as a further claimed UK first with the Durselen programmable paper drilling system.
For those looking to invest in CTP, the company is announcing its new agency for Mitsubishi and is launching a range of pre-press CTP systems including the new Mitsubishi SDP Eco 1630IIXL B3 polyester system, which features an environment-friendly process that reduces waste chemistry by up to 70 per cent, claimed GAE.
The system is also believed to have a smaller footprint, faster operating speed and lower investment price than other polyester systems.
The company has also taken on the agency for Screen's latest Platerite Micra B3 and B2 CTP systems.
The Platerite Micra's high power 60mw laser allows the use of photopolymer metal plate material, which significantly reduces the levels of harmful waste product.
Another claimed UK first for the pressroom is Shinohara's B3 Lithpod - a true four-colour litho print on demand press in a compact unit.
It features automated blanket wash, automated ink roller wash, semi-automated plate change and perfecting changeover, remote operation control, heavy-duty rolling power, high precision dot definition and production speeds up to 15,000 impressions per hour said GAE.
All visitors to the open days will be entered into GAE's product launch open house prize draw to win the DVD of their choice every month until Ipex 2006.
