A Graphic Arts Equipment product story
Edited by the Printingtalk editorial team Dec 19, 2007

With a claimed set-up time of 15 seconds, the new Horizon AFC564F fully-automated super-B2 combination folding system will be highlighted at Graphic Arts Equipment's (GAE) open house next February.

The Horizon AFC564F has an icon-based LCD touch screen, master calliper fold roller setting and claimed high-speed feeding.

The four-buckle plate folder, which has an on-board 200-job memory store, is said to offer 14 standard fold patterns.

The open week will take place on February 5, 6 and 7 2008 at GAE's Perivale (UK) showroom.

GAE said it will also use the event to show the widest range of Horizon's automated perfect binders seen outside a major international trade fare, including the BQ270jdf , which is claimed to be the UK's best-selling automated single clamp binder.

The seven-clamp SB-07jdf and four-clamp BQ470jdf with PUR glue option, will also be shown.

Horizon's HT30 robotic three-side trimming system, the SPF200A automated booklet production line and Stichliner saddle-stitching system will also be demonstrated.

GAE said that the event will allow visitors to see the power of on-demand systems in every major bindery discipline, including cutting, folding, booklet making, saddle-stitching, perfect binding, trimming and casebinding.

All Horizon automated systems on display will feature JDF compatibility.

The company also added that customers wishing to learn about the benefits of switching from EVA to PUR for perfect binding will be able to have an overview of the related issues.

Other GAE-supplied equipment on view will include the Perfecta 115 TVC Autotrim guillotine and flowline, MGi Meteor SRA3 digital colour press and Durselen paper drills.

At the open house event Litho Supplies and Shinohara UK will feature what is claimed to be the first UK showing of the Shinohara 52VP five-colour convertible-to-perfecting B3 press.

Equipment from Renz, GBC, Toppy, Italdibipack and Lasermax will also be on show.

GAE's joint managing director, Bryan Godwyn, commented: "The marketplace doesn't hold its breath and wait for Drupa.

It's a highly competitive environment and the optimum timing of investments is crucial.

The introduction of automated finishing processes is one area where commercial and inplant operations can improve their performance and reduce costs.

We have arranged this event to give customers the opportunity to look closely at the range of equipment we supply in a relaxed and objective environment.".
