Correction
GSE Dispensing's Ink Management Software, IMS 3.61, has been updated with new functions that are claimed to improve ink formulation accuracy, user friendliness and productivity.
The software update, according to GSE Dispensing, provides the ability to make recipe corrections according to anilox roll types, bucket parking facilities, whilst offering improved ink return management functions and a user interface in several European languages The anilox correction function within the IMS software is claimed to ensure automatic correction of ink concentrations according to the anilox type

Viscometers Tackle Re-Moist Adhesives Sticky Issue
Many commercial printers are applying water based re-moist adhesives as part of their printing processes.
The company said that, as a rule, ink strength is proportional to the ink volume that passes through the anilox roll.
Until now, printers had to compensate for strong ink concentrations after recipe preparation, by adjusting process parameters, for example.
The bucket parking feature enables the system to temporarily store information about partially dispensed recipes, which GSE said is advantageous when interruptions occur because of an empty ink barrel, for instance.
In such a scenario, the operator can break off from the dispensing job, attend to other formulations and return to the affected recipe at a more convenient time.
Maarten Hummelen, the marketing director at GSE Dispensing, explained: "With the new features of the IMS 3.61, the printer is well placed to get the recipe right first time round and achieve total colour accuracy on the press.
This further improves the predictability of ink formulation, providing a solid foundation for achieving high productivity and print quality." IMS software is used by GSE's ink dispensing systems to carry out all ink logistics calculations, relating to recipes, press returns, stock management and remote diagnostics, he added.
The company said that the software upgrades are provided free of charge to those customers that subscribe to GSE Dispensing's service contract, which gives customers a full support and maintenance programme from GSE's technical staff.
