The new Colorsat Compact gravimetric flexo and gravure ink dispenser is now available for board and flexible packaging converters.
Manufactured by GSE Dispensing, the dispenser's claimed greater modularity, easy operation and straight forward installation are said by the company to provide a more flexible and economical way to enjoy ink recipe management and controlled, repeatable colour consistency The new Compact is also claimed to give converters more freedom to choose the specification level that suits individual budgetary requirements

Special features include a combined wet and dry cleaning unit, stainless steel horizontal plates to prevent ink clogging, a modular tray design and simplified drum connections.
Buckets can be placed, or removed, at a comfortable working height.
Powered by GSE's proprietary IMS ink management software, the Compact is said to provide a fully integrated, automated ink logistics workflow that is suitable for just-in-time manufacturing operations, where standardised quality is essential.
Make-ready time is reduced, as water-based ink recipes, in batches up to 20kg are created on-demand in two and a half minutes to an accuracy of 1g.
Like other products in the GSE range, the Compact reduces ink consumption and minimises stock levels by calculating exact dosages needed for a particular print run and ensuring fast re-use of return inks in new recipes, said GSE.
Recall of previous dispensing orders is said to ensure identical results for repeat jobs, whilst all colour components for each job are logged in a database for traceability.
